Patient of the month - Ma gets a senior health check

Most of you may have met our grumpy but lovely clinic cat Ma, who is now and truly a senior cat as she is 13 years old. This means she will need to get a full senior health check up every six months. The check up includes a blood pressure test to check for high blood pressure, and a urine test to ensure the kidneys are in good working order.

Did you know we have a DIY hydrobath?

If you give your dog regular baths, it may interest you to know that we have a purpose-built hydrobath at our clinic. It is easy to use and our friendly team is always available to help. It costs only $10 to use it if you bring your own towels and shampoo, or $12 if you prefer to use our supplies.

What should I feed my rabbit?

Have you noticed our range of rabbit foods and treats in our clinic lately? Many people ask us what are the best food to feed their rabbits. We recommend hay, rabbit pellets and fresh vegetables but there are some exceptions. If you are unsure, just call us as we are more than happy to advise.

Gorillas "calling on you" - Recycle your old mobile phones
We are proud to be supporting Melbourne Zoo in one of their latest campaigns "They're Calling on You" mobile phone recycling program. The program aims to raise awareness of the issue of coltan mining. You can help by donating your old or unused mobile phones. Just bring them into the clinic and we will happily send them away for recycling for you.

Researchers at Sherbrooke University have discovered that obedient (or docile, shy) breeds live longer than disobedient (or bold) ones. Additionally, aggressive breeds have higher energy needs than unaggressive ones. The study shows how humans have unwittingly initiated a selection experiment on personality from years of domestication.
