Patient of the month - Cub survives poisionous flower

Eleven week old Cub, a domestic short haired cat, had eaten part of a Lily flower. The ingestion of plants or flowers of the Lilianceae family can cause severe, irreversible kidney failure and death in cats within 3 to 7 days of exposure. Cub was admitted to Fitzroy Veterinary Hospital for intravenous fluid therapy and observation.

A Polish boat crew made an astonishing rescue from the icy cold waters of the Baltic Sea this month. Aptly nick-named 'Baltic', a cross breed canine is thought to have travelled over 100km on an ice floe before being scooped up from the sea.
